Dr. Ziauddin Islam is a globally recognized medical doctor and public health leader with over 20 years of experience in clinical practice, policy development, and tobacco control advocacy. As the Founder and Chief Executive of the ENDiT Foundation, he drives the mission to eliminate tobacco use by empowering communities with education, evidence-based strategies, and innovative harm-reduction initiatives—creating healthier, tobacco-free environments worldwide.
Background and Expertise
Dr. Islam holds an MBBS from the University of Sindh, an MSc in Health Economics from Karolinska Institute, and a Postgraduate Course in Medical Education from the University of Dundee. He advanced his expertise as a Research Scholar at Johns Hopkins University’s Institute of Global Tobacco Control. His career highlights include serving as Technical Head of Pakistan’s Tobacco Control Cell (2009–2021) and the country’s focal person for the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC).
